RANDOM MIX

Parental controls & safety

Random Mix runs fully offline, with no chat, no content from strangers, no ads, no accounts, no analytics and no in-app purchases. That covers most of it before you touch a setting. On top of that, a few controls let you shape the game for a young player.

Hide genres (Settings → GAME → MANAGE GENRES)

Tap any genre to hide or show it. Hidden genres disappear from the menu, and SURPRISE ME never picks them. Some genre names in the catalog (like DEATH METAL or TERRORCORE) may not fit every household, and this is the switch for that. At least one genre must stay visible. Changes apply immediately.

Hide dancers (Settings → GAME → MANAGE DANCERS)

The same idea for the dancer characters: hidden dancers leave the picker. At least one stays visible.

The 4-digit PIN

Both panels share one optional parental PIN. Press LOCK in either panel to set it (enter it twice). Once set, the panels open read-only, and any change asks for the PIN first. A wrong entry shakes the panel and asks again. Press LOCK again with the PIN to remove it.

While a PIN is set, Settings → GAME → RESET PROGRESS asks for it too. A full reset wipes the whole profile, including the PIN and the hidden lists, so the game will not let it happen without the PIN.

The PIN is there to keep young children out. A determined teenager with the device can get around it. If you need a stronger fence, use your device's own parental controls.

If you forget the PIN

On any PIN screen, press and hold the row of four PIN dots for about eight seconds without lifting your finger. The PIN is cleared and you can set a new one. The game never mentions this anywhere, on purpose. This page is the only place it is written down.

Hiding the dancer (Settings → ACCESS, also in Settings → GAME)

Three switches, from mild to firm. HIDE DANCER and HIDE EVERYWHERE also appear in Settings → GAME, right under the two MANAGE panels, so everything a parent needs sits in one place. HIDE DANCER hides the dancer during play only; the menu keeps a dimmed preview so the character screen stays reachable. HIDE EVERYWHERE removes the dancer from the menu as well. DANCER LOCK is the parental one: it forces the dancer hidden everywhere and freezes the other two switches. Turning the lock off is deliberately child-resistant (five taps within a rolling three-second window), and afterwards your own HIDE settings apply again.
